Maintenance Mechanic
Position Summary
A Maintenance Technician (Referred to as “MT”) is a specialty position in our bakery. They are valuable members of the team focused on supporting the necessary upkeep, installation, and servicing the production and packing departments in the installation, maintenance, and upkeep of machinery. They will also be responsible for new installations learning equipment to minimize downtime. In addition, MT will assist in the training of all personnel on all equipment in the building. All MT must be willing to work at any level of project execution ranging from planning to clean-up and everything in between. This position requires the ability to act as a member of a highly functioning team.
Essential Functions
Responsible for all plant Repairs and Maintenance over all departments, including: Production, Packaging, Routing and Fulfillment, Utility & Sanitation, Repairs and Maintenance, QA and Compliance, and the Office.
Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Ideations PM programs
Ensures all equipment are tagged and updated on the asset list,
Develops and ensures adherence to the PMI schedule,
Maintains Inventory on all tools, equipment, spare parts, and orders supplies as needed,
Encourage positive relationships with contractors, equipment vendors and service providers,
Works with QA Department to ensure maintenance is compliant with all food safety and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs and their attendant intervention systems.
Maintenance assists in cross training teams and initiates corrective actions for ongoing compliance.
Conducts training sessions to ensure companywide standardization.
Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace throughout the day by being clean, having a tidy work area, and being mindful and observant of surroundings.
All functions and duties following written and verbal instructions.
Maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, management, customers, and clients.
Requires flexibility to fill in for absent positions in production or packaging areas including an availability for other shifts including those on weekends and holidays.
Requires all positions to utilize basic computer software for scheduling, requesting time off, setting up and maintaining pay and personal information as set forth by HR.
Qualifications
Previous experience in bakery manufacturing, food production, warehouse operations, packaging, or related manufacturing environments is preferred but not required.
Entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Required Skills & Abilities
Demonstrates comp math and counting skills.
Must be able to stand and walk for an 8-hour day; lifting up to 80 lbs.
Position will require the ability to bend, stoop, and twist, pull, push, reach above shoulder level, move equipment and parts around the bakery environment safely utilizing fingers, wrist, hands, arms, and legs and machine guards
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes that occur.
Must be able to speak read and write in English.
Performs other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures as outlined.
