Production Associate
Position Summary
Production Associate I is an entry-level role within our bakery manufacturing operation. Production Associates are essential members of the team responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality food production processes. This position is ideal for dependable individuals who are motivated to learn, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to overall operational success.
Production Associates are cross-trained and may rotate between production, packaging, sanitation, and other operational areas based on business needs and management direction. Flexibility, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are critical to success in this role.
This position supports continuous production line operations by assisting with product handling, packaging, equipment operation, sanitation, and maintaining production flow while following all company safety and food safety standards.
Essential Functions
Review daily production schedules at the beginning of each shift to understand operational requirements and assist with line setup, materials, and supplies.
Maintain continuous and efficient loading, unloading, stacking, and movement of products and pans throughout production and packaging areas.
Operate production and packaging equipment safely and efficiently according to company procedures and training guidelines.
Visually inspect products for quality defects, contamination risks, or foreign material concerns.
Report product quality, machinery, equipment, or supply issues promptly to supervisors or management to minimize downtime and product waste.
Follow all company policies and procedures related to food safety, GMPs, sanitation, SQF, OSHA, safety practices, and operational standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the shift.
Accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and teamwork when interacting with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and visitors.
Rotate between departments and assignments as operational needs require.
Demonstrate flexibility to support overtime, weekends, holidays, shift changes, or staffing coverage when necessary.
Utilize basic computer systems, HR platforms, and the iSolved application for scheduling, payroll, communication, training, and time-off requests.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in bakery manufacturing, food production, warehouse operations, packaging, or related manufacturing environments preferred but not required.
Entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Required Skills & Abilities
Ability to learn bakery production processes, equipment operation, food safety requirements, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
Basic math and counting skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing production demands.
Strong attendance, reliability, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including full shifts and overtime as required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and moving products or equipment throughout the facility.
Ability to safely work around moving machinery and production equipment.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and production environments typical of a bakery manufacturing facility.
